生平简介
Zheng He, also known as Ma Sanbao, was born in 1371 in Nanjing. His father was a military officer who served the Ming dynasty. Zheng He's family had been involved with the maritime trade for several generations, and he grew up surrounded by the sea.
As a young man, Zheng He studied Buddhism under his uncle's guidance. However, it wasn't until he met Wang Zhenyi, a prominent Taoist master of the time that he discovered his true calling. Under Wang Zhenyi's tutelage, Zheng He devoted himself to studying Taoism and practicing martial arts.
宗教信仰与修炼
Zheng He was deeply influenced by Taoist philosophy and saw medicine as an extension of his spiritual practice. According to historical records, he often used herbs gathered from remote mountains during his voyages to create remedies for illnesses.
His medical knowledge was rooted in both traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and alchemy (a branch of Daoist internal alchemy). By combining these two disciplines with his extensive travel experiences across Asia and Africa during seven naval expeditions commissioned by Emperor Zhu Di between 1405-1433 AD., Zheng He developed unique treatment methods that catered to various ailments encountered along the way.
